Q. Tell us in short of how you started everything & what is that you do?

A. Very surprisingly I was very clear about what I wanted to become and the kind of woman I had in my vision I was very clear about it and till this day I have no clue how I got conditioned like that. Sometimes some people or some kids, like they see a game on the television daily and then they decide that “I will become a sports person when I grow up.” because they feel very strong sense of connection or attraction to that particular person and sometimes it’s  in the case of singers as well ,like so many singers were actually inspired by others to be one successful person in that field too , but I don’t remember being inspired by any writer or any particular event happening in my life that made me realise that “yeah I love writing “.it’s just it was a natural instinct that, “this is my inner calling “,and “this is what I love doing”,”this is what I would do for free”,” this is what I do if nobody even knew me “and that instinct grew into passion as I became older and older and now that I am 18 I think so that  my passion has  heightened as it has ever had in the past years of my life I wrote my first ever poem when I was eight or nine and then I kept working on this thing of mine and I wrote my first ever book when I was 14 ,which was very impressive for people around me because it was a self help book and nobody could expect that obviously  from a 14 year old ,then I wrote my second book when I turned 16 and the third book I wrote was when I turned 18 , this book yellow which has turned out to be very successful. I am grateful for this journey. I am waiting for the path to reveal itself.

Q. What is your habit/ pattern like day to day in order to constantly create content especially as a writer?

A. To create content daily and to write something meaningful every day, I think so that I engage in reading very much it’s to the point, that I might call myself a reader more than a writer. I read a lot every single day, it makes me better as a writer and better as a learner, it keeps me informed about the latest writing trends. Reading really helps you a lot with many things.

Q. What is your favourite quote?

A. My favourite quote is what I have as my lockscreen too, “things have a miraculous way of working out”

Q. If you have any upcoming book, whats it about? Or any project?

A. As of now  I don’t have any other book coming up not something very huge which is going to be out in the market, in front of people, I think so I am really  focused on the success of yellow right now, yellow is hitting the book stores and I am waiting for it to spread its wings and get the reaction it deserves ,it is going to create many more miracles but if I look at other projects that are coming in future Its  definitely the release of an anthology named “intoxication” that I worked on with “writers pocket” and I am also performing  on 10th April at Indian film house’s event which is the “India’s young poets” book launch,I’ll be a part of the book as well and it’s a huge honor and these are the only projects that I can currently reveal or talk about thank you so much.

Q. To sum up the person that you are, then you are...?

A. To Sum up I think so that I am a person who is very hopeful, very “in the moment” type, very cheerful and by cheerful it doesn’t mean that I am always very happy, very excited about life ,I have my bad days as well but I think so I have the ability to bounce back from the low to the high real quickly. I am the kind of person who is not affected by her past too much, I don’t give the past very much control over me, yes there are some things that go wrong in everyone’s life but I move on from things that I am supposed to very soon and that is because I am very much interested in where I am right now ,in the present or something which interests me is the future ,that what is going to happen next but not something which has happened I don’t think so I have ever let my past control my mindset or the vision that I have for me or my perceptions and beliefs. I have a very “it is what it is” mentality.

Q. What do you like writing the most about?

A. There is not a specific topic that I enjoy writing about, I love writing as a whole, if you put a water bottle in front of me  I will enjoy writing about it as much as I would enjoy writing about the complex emotions in our life. I can write about anything and as long as I can write and I can give my words a very specific touch and something which makes it belong to me I mean  my authenticity, I am happy doing it . I drive very much joy by writing about something very obvious. like the sunrise and sunset ,the moon ,these are the topics which are chosen by the writers very often, but if you write about something which is like in your daily life and you are giving it a poetic touch then that describes you very much as a writer because how  you can make the ordinary beautiful ,that is your writing ability this is what moves the audience or the people who love reading you

Q. How do you feel being featured on our website?

A. I feel very excited to be working with you and your website I think so it’s a huge honour for me to do this interview with  your team definitely, I love talking to people and the quality of  this interaction is just something else thank you so much for having me.

About the Book: Filled with verses and art, delivering messages of healing and the pain of hurting, Yellow : the verses of hurting and healing is a poetry collection, divided into two phases: MOHI &KABIR. Mohi symbolizes “the hurting” and Kabir is all about “the healing” that comes after it. A book written and illustrated by the author, which is for everyone. For those who believe in love and compassion and for those who dont. Those who have healed and those who are still in process. Those who aren’t able to move on and those who have successfully done it. It is for the feminists, the activists, the believers, the gender norm shatterers, it is a gift, a book on its journey to make difference in its readers’ life. It is beyond any genre that describes it, Yellow is the revolution, filled with verses about heartbreaks, toxic relationships, self-love, men, rapes, sexuality, depression, self-hate, letting go, moving on, letters to self and so much more, that you only discover when you unfold the pages of the book. The author wants the readers to consider yellow as their personal diary, where they can fold the pages they like, underline their favourite lines and even mail her if they find something debatable. This poetry collection has beautiful illustrations with every verse and some yellow colored pages which are author’s favourites. The main theme of yellow revolves around self love and self worth and importance of ones own well being, that’s why its not some ordinary romance teen book. It has more of a realistic approach than fictional and talks how love is not always a fairy tale. Since the book has a very strong dual element of first the hurting then the healing namely mohi and Kabir, at the end it is followed by three letters addressed to the self. 1. The letter of apology 2. The letter of love and 3. The letter of hope. All of them are beautifully penned down and captures the feeling of regret, and love one should feel for not others but for themselves as well. Along with poetries the book contains some proses as well on strong subjects like depression and feminism. With all this the book captures a very different kind of transition in love we feel when we are hurt and when we are healed. The healing part of Kabir is very positive and joyful as it gives a hope to the reader who are in the “mohi” phase. The author says she added the dual element to the book to signify there is always a Kabir to mohi and vice versa. Nothing is permanent if you are hurt today, you will not remain the same way forever. The book ends with a poem, urja joshi (author) wrote for her readers, describing how beautiful they are. The book feels very real and personal because it’s a brutally honest depiction of author’s life and also it consist of elements which everyone has gone through. Its high relatability makes it worth reading, something you would remember forever.
